- [Narrator] Astronauts report it feels good. T minus 25 seconds. 20 seconds and counting. T minus 15 seconds, guidance is internal. 12, 11, 10, nine, eight, seven. Main engine start, we have main engine start. Four, three, two, one, zero. Lift off, we have a lift off. 32 minutes past the hour. Lift off on Apollo 11. - [Woman] Like the future brilliant now. - [Man] Why is everything about the future? We walk around with our heads in the clouds. We won't even be around long enough to benefit from it. - [Woman] Stop, you'll wake Grace. That's so selfish, Peter. - [Peter] Everyone's selfish when you boil it down. - [Man] No they're not. There's plenty of people willing to make sacrifices for the good of those around them. - [Woman] That's true, look at those who died in wars for the greater good. - [Man] Wasted lives. I say let the strong dominate. Let them have what they want. And if you're weak, go and hide. - [Woman] Now you say that, Peter, because you live in the world of the strong. - [Man] So what am I supposed to do? Never plan for anything? - [Man] Exactly. - [Woman] That's crazy. Peter, you're ranting again. You're always like this after a few drinks. - [Peter] It's the truth. - The truth is relative to your perspective and yours is clearly self centered. - Everybody's are mean in the end. - So what would you do, Peter? - Oh God please don't. - First of all, I would stop wasting resources on Dreamers. Spend another hour if you have it. - [Man] Keep it safe. - [Peter] Keep it safe. - [Man] Safe, you've got to take risks. We wouldn't put a man on the moon if it didn't take risks. - [Peter] All the time and effort. All we did was push a bit of dust around. - [Man] I know, I know, people need their distractions. - [Peter] It was too scary for the moon. Well, you scratch the surface of any ideology and you will find a terrified little creature. And that's why it is inevitable. - [Woman] What's inevitable, Peter? - [Peter] Our demise. - [Man] Take climate change. That happens anyway. How can anyone seriously consider that their kids would have a better future if they recycle a few plastic bottles. It doesn't matter. - [Woman] Grace honey, did you have a bad dream? - [Man] What's this? - Oh, it's a message. - Do you want me to read it, Grace? - [Woman] Out loud? - [Man and Grace Voiceover] Don't worry, we will fix it, there is good in everyone. And we will reach down and lift those who need help. We will stop the wars and the greedy keeping it all. - [Woman and Grace Voiceover] We will repair our broken planet and when that is done, we will build a bridge that goes through the clouds into the sky and make cities in the stars. - [Grace Voiceover] And even if all we do is lay down a few bricks, that takes us a little bit closer. - [Grace NASA] It doesn't matter because our dreams will fill the next generation full of hope. Because hope is a big bridge. I wrote that letter when I was 11 years old. I think there's still a little girl inside of me just like there's a child in all of you. I hope you're enjoying your visit here to NASA today. This place is filled with dreamers, brilliant dreamers. Sometimes I think I'm an imposter. I mean, really? Shhh, don't tell anyone. I have a message for all of you building our future. Don't forget to dream and dream big. And when you try to realize your dream, don't be disappointed if progress seems slow or if you feel like you're wasting your time. Just hold on, hold onto that initial impulse, that spark, that spark that lit the fire in your belly because one day the clouds will part, you lift your head, you look around, and you realize you're on your way. - [Narrator] All your systems are looking good.
